Troops march towards the Palestinian enclave. Israel increases military pressure. The Golani elite infantry brigade is accompanied by tank units. The soldiers get shot at from beyond the border fence. Someone managed to film Qassam missiles falling on a military bus. The missiles exploded slightly ahead of the bus. Later, two other servicemen will be injured by bomb splitters. Civilian casualties are much heavier. More than 1,000 missiles were fired from Gaza during the 48-hour clash. Alarms were buzzing in dozens of Israeli cities and villages. Schools and universities were closed. Trains weren't running.

Some were heavily injured. In Ashdod, a 22-year old man was killed trying to run for cover. An anti-tank shell hit a passenger car driving down a cross-border highway and killed its elderly driver. A construction worker died when a Qassam missile hit a site in Ashkelon. In the same city, a man who went out for a smoke in his own courtyard was fatally injured by a splinter piercing his chest.

After a five-hour meeting, the Defense Cabinet of Israel ordered the troops to continue the offensive and prepare for further actions.

Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel: "I ordered to continue the mass attack against the terrorist facilities in the Gaza Strip and to reinforce the troops around the Strip with tanks, artillery, and infantry units".

The Gaza Strip also canceled all classes. The Israeli Air Force and artillery delivered several hundred strikes against the Hamas military offices, strategic tunnels, missile factories, training bases, field commanders' houses, and launched a series of targeted attacks. The aerial footage shows a missile being fired at Ahmed Khudri's car. According to Israeli intelligence, he was funding Hamas and the Islamic jihad. The medical workers of Gaza report multiple injured and more than 20 dead, including civilians.

Mahmud Abu Arar: "The kids were playing when a drone launched a missile. They were killed by an Israeli attack".

The Israeli Army either denies the information or refuses to comment on it. The Egyptian mediators have repeatedly proposed that the parties cease shooting that doesn't only threaten the lives of people on both sides of the border fence but also the fate of Eurovision whose participants have already gathered in Tel Aviv.
