Now we'll move to the south of Russia. Muslims are celebrating a big holiday, the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad.

Artur Mustayev, our reporter in the Chechen Republic, reports on the celebrations in the grand mosque in the town of Shali, where 50,000 people gathered last night.

Right before dawn, bright fireworks lit up the town center and its main attraction, the Pride of the Muslims Mosque. It's the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad. Thousands of believers wholeheartedly praised Allah and glorified his messenger all night long.

The biggest mosque of the Prophet Muhammad in Europe, which had been opened this August, couldn't accommodate all the believers despite the fact that its capacity is 30,000 people.

Said-Hussein Bagalayev, Shali citizen: "He's the last of the prophets who came and gave the Muslims this grace. We love him".

Throughout the ages, the Muslims sought to gain grace through everything related to Allah's last messenger. Tonight, everyone who came here had this chance. The white marble shrine exhibited the precious relics related to the Prophet's life for the first time.

The head of the republic joined everyone in the celebrations. The day before the Prophet's birthday, Ramzan Kadyrov ordered that financial assistance is given to the seriously ill residents of Chechnya.

Ramzan Kadyrov, head of the Chechen Republic: "Our Prophet was born on this night, and his life is an example for us. Tonight, we are grateful to Allah that we're living in this time, that we can now pray in peace, and support people in need. It's what our Prophet left us".

Charity events on the Prophet Muhammad's birthday will take place in the whole republic today. Hundreds of families in need will receive food assistance. Per tradition, the parents of children who were born this day and named after the Messenger of Allah and his companions will get financial aid from the regional authorities, so these families will have two reasons to celebrate.
